RIP, Pho Sure Vietnamese Restaurant.
When a friend recommended meeting at Pho Sure Vietnamese Restaurant at 741 West Ashby Place near San Antonio College for lunch, I said, “Fo’ sure!” (Not really, but I should have.)
I’m happy I said yes, though, because Pho Sure’s lunch special was delicious, and the restaurant itself has an inviting vibe. Whimsical art by Maureen “Momo” Brown enlivened the walls of the family-owned establishment, which was hopping with a lunch crowd.
My friend ordered the Pho lunch special, and I ordered the Pork Dumpling Soup lunch special. Both came with our choice of egg roll or crab rangoon. Neither us us left a drop in our bowls or a crumb on our plates. I’ll be going back to try other items on Pho Sure’s menu.
If bubble tea is your thing, you have a tough choice ahead of you: taro, banana, black tea, coconut, mango, thai, jasmine, green, peach, strawberry, green apple, papaya, honeydew, watermelon, passion fruit, kiwi, guava or blueberry. At $3 per tea, you might have to buy more than one.
Besides eating in, you may also order your food to go or for delivery. The restaurant’s phone number is (210) 733-8473.
Pho Sure, which overlooks San Pedro Springs Park and is not far from Woodlawn Lake Park, is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays. It is closed on Sundays and Tuesdays.
