Choosing just 10 things to do in the Alamo City over Spring Break is a challenge! I’ve given it my best, though. Please leave your suggestions in the comments below. ¡Viva San Antonio!

  1. Mission Reach One of only 24 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the United States, and the ONLY one in Texas.
  2. San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium I’m a sucker for the Golden Lion Tamarin monkeys.
  3. Flea Mart I’m also a sucker for flea markets and thrift stores. What treasures will you find?
  4. Breakfast Tacos Nothing wrong with having breakfast tacos for breakfast AND lunch.
  5. Toilet Seat Art Museum It’s not a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Yet. (RIP, Toilet Seat Art Museum.)
  6. St. Patrick’s Day Greening of the River and Parade Enjoy being Irish for a weekend.
  7. San Antonio Botanical Garden Springtime. Need I say more?
  8. Medina River Natural Area Commune with Mother Nature on the South Side.
  9. The Witte Museum The South Texas Heritage Center is just one piece of this city gem that’s undergone a $100 million upgrade.
  10. Happy Hour at HemisFair Tower What’s not to like about a 360 degree view of the Alamo City while sipping adult beverages?

Denise Barkis Richter, Ph.D., author of “San Antonio’s Passport to Fun,” has been blogging about San Antonio since June of 2010. Follow her at facebook.com/SanAntonioTourist so that you’ll never miss a post. Her love affair with the Alamo City began at Hemisfair in 1968. 1. The toilet seat museum reminds of the Cathedral of Junk in Austin. Let me know when you are in town and we will plan an outing, one to be remembered!!! 😃😃😃❤️❤️❤️🐚👧🏻
