Those who’ve followed my blog from the get-go know that treasure-hunting is one of my all-time favorite pastimes, and Antiques at Broadway offers a carefully selected, eclectic stockpile of can’t-live-without items for those of us with the forage gene.
I should know! Today I walked out with a hand-carved Ganesha who’s flying on the back of a bird. I’ve since learned that Ganesha is the god of wisdom, success and good luck, and he helps remove obstacles and difficulties. Yes, yes, yes, yes and YES!
The 13 dealers on the corner of Broadway at Arcadia, near the Austin Highway intersection, have been curating the perfect gifts for you and your loved ones since 1980. (Interesting aside: One of the dealers and I waited tables on the River Walk during the summer of 1982, and we’ve been friends ever since.)
You will definitely not go home empty-handed with Antiques at Broadway’s extensive selection of home decor, jewelry, clothes, handcrafted silver, furniture, cocktail ware, fine art, china, crystal, vintage photographs and more.
The dealers also buy gold, silver, jewelry, antiques and vintage pieces, and they coordinate estate sales. While I was in the shop, a local interior designer was stocking up for a client’s home.
This Sunday, May 5, Antiques on Broadway will host an outdoor market with antique and vintage decor, art, clothing and jewelry in the Arcadia Grove parking lot, 5226 Broadway, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Their normal hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Follow them on Instagram to stay up with the latest/greatest in their shop.
