Plate of Central Mexican Food at Tlahco on San Pedro at Jeanette in San Antonio, Texas.

San Antonio’s Tlahco, hard to spell but easy to love

Since you eat with your eyes first, Tlahco wins San Antonio restaurants’ food presentation blue ribbon hands down. Scroll through the photos in the slideshow above and try not to drool!

My husband and I have been to the 6702 San Pedro at Jeanette location (not far from North Star Mall) four times now, and each time we have been blown away by the look and taste of Tlahco’s fare.

Their menu, derived from the cuisine of Central Mexico, is over the top. We recently took two friends to Tlahco, and I’ve never before seen such big smiles on their faces. They thanked us again and again for introducing them to such a fabulous restaurant.

Enmoladas (chicken enchiladas coated in homemade mole sauce), Al Pastor, Queso Fundido, Tacos Dorados, Sopes, Quesadillas, Parrilladas, Pancakes, Desserts y MÁS! You could eat at Tlahco every day for a month and still not make your way through their entire menu. (Sounds like a goal we need to set!)

And don’t get me started on their prices! You can order an amazing plate of food for what a hamburger and fries will cost you at many places. They also serve wine, beer and Mexican Coca-Cola, and their waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Run–don’t walk–to give Tlahco a try. You will thank me for this recommendation. Parking is plentiful in the back of the restaurant, entering from El Montan at Jeanette.

Follow Tlahco on Instagram and Facebook to stay in the loop. They are open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. They also offer catering.
