Battle of the Bean & Cheese on San Antonio’s South Side

I couldn’t be prouder of my COMM 2305 Spring 2018 Palo Alto College students for pulling off the first-ever Battle of the Bean & Cheese! Take a look at their story to see who won the crown!

I think we need to figure out a way to do a city-wide competition. El Milagrito, Maria’s and Panchito’s would be on my list of contenders. Not to mention another mom-and-pop place that I’ll be writing about in the near future.

¡Viva San Antonio! ¡Viva the South Side! ¡Viva Bean & Cheese Tacos!

Denise Barkis Richter, Ph.D., has been blogging about San Antonio since June of 2010. Follow her at facebook.com/SanAntonioTourist. Her love affair with the Alamo City began at Hemisfair in 1968. Denise has been eating bean and cheese tacos since she moved to the Alamo City in 1979. She was introduced to the delicacy at the original Taco Cabana on San Pedro at Hildebrand.
