Liz Brownlee Godsey, the daughter of a former Palo Alto College colleague, is a college student who is majoring in Environmental Science. She is also a mom and a mini farmer (poultry, fruits and vegetables) who lives in San Antonio. Her goal is to inspire the readers of her blog to get out and enjoy the native flora and fauna of our area. Liz doesn’t mention this in her post, but she’s a modern-day St. Francis, a collector of animals who have fallen on hard times. She helps nurse them back to health.
It is with great pleasure that I share an interview she conducted with her neighbor, a former migrant farm worker, about food, culture and life, nursing us back to health.
